We're not idiots. We know, from watching our neighbours to the south, exactly how this goes.

Message to fellow journalists (and anyone claiming to be one): do not “police-involved shooting” executions in broad daylight.

Obfuscating language like that is completely journalistically unnecessary and, even worse, sanitizes reality.

Words have meaning. Use the right ones.

As a Canadian I have to say it’s kinda surreal to log onto Bluesky and regularly be greeted by a wall of horrifying new updates from American users about their country’s descent into fascism
