    Side note: over half of Russia's income is from oil. They can't balance their budget at $55/bbl. Doubling the price of oil is a godsend for Russia & OPEC.

    [gets out can of Ubik, sprays it around liberally]

    A fake advertisement for a spray can of a substance called Ubik. Ubik is from a Philip K. Dick novel of the same name. It's supposed to help preserve the appearance of reality in a milieu that doesn't correspond with normal consensus reality. The ad has a blonde woman with tied back hair, holding a can of Ubik. For some reason, "Ubik" is mostly in mirror reversed letters, but the letters are in the correct order for the word. The backward appearance for the word is both on the can & in a logo at the bottom of the page. The ad has the woman saying: "I came over to Ubik after trying weak, out-of-date reality supports. My pots and pans were turning into heaps of rust. The floors of my conapt were sagging." "But now I use economical new powerful today's Ubik, and with miraculous results." The ad goes on to state "Entirely harmless if used as directed!"

    The main reason I left FB a couple years ago was because too many family members had gotten too toxic for me. I would dread trying to use the platform, even after blocking some of them or otherwise restricting their access. And when I realized how much dread I had, I bailed. Fuck that place.
