Have you never heard of this? Very nearly all low end jobs like this want you to prove you can get to work because having a reliable car is a luxury that most of the people filling these jobs don't get.

It's hard to imagine the desperate, terrified, impotent rage this father must feel at not being able to take care of his sick child. In a just universe there would be consequences for this. Unfortunately, I fear that this universe has only the justice we wring from it.

No sane, well adjusted person decides to join ICE. That's by design. It's like when scammers make their pitch so stupid it selects for the most gullible people only. ICE is a machine for making an army that doesn't ask questions. The cruelty is part of it.

No. It's a bet that these entities will do better in the future than they are now. If you knock them down and then bet they'll get back up when the next guy stops kicking them and you know for a fact the next guy will do that you can make quite a bit of money.

It's more subtle than that. The fundamental conservative worldview is 'the people at the top belong there because they are wise and strong. The people at the bottom belong there because they are useless and weak. My position in this hierarchy is reduced if anyone below me gains power'

This is, in the long run, the wrong take. What we should want is not for the human to have the *job* but for the human to have the *resources*. Once we have strong ai we have enough resources for every human to just be a painter or a saxophonist or whatever and not worry about sitting in an office.

Nah, the world didn't decide to have a kid. That person did. Take care of your own kid, don't make it everyone else's problem. Same thing with parents that would rather make the entire world foam padded than take a little responsibility for their choices

Do you think this just stops if a few AI companies shut down? The cat is out of the bag. All we get when the AI mania recedes slightly is another dotcom economic crash. When things come back those models will still exist.

You don't need armed goons at each polling site. You need enough volunteer 'patriots' at key sites to reduce certain turnout numbers by a large enough %. You can win an election with 'the implications' just fine

People think the *extremely strange* American economy is some natural feature of the universe because it's existed for a few generations. It is completely dependent on American soft financial and military power. It will fall apart on it's own some day but we're currently actively burning it down.

There are in fact plenty of people who are induced toward certain behaviors by religion, that's the whole reason it has been so successful for so long, it's a great way to control provided a certain level of hierarchy is built into the structure.
