I think parent post is more trying to criticize the modern obsession by investors with *short-term* gains. Capitalism doesn't work when companies are constantly cannibalizing long-term healthy growth in order to juke the quarterly stats. Its some kind of weird cancerous mutant growth of capitalism.
It's even dumber. It's move to the right, but completely fail to appeal to anyone on the right *or* the left.
Ughhh I realize it's deeply uncool to recognize the US as literally the worst thing to ever exist but chill a bit pls.
Well luckily there don't appear to be any ICE agents afflicted with a high IQ!
Self checkout lanes are fine. Not having perfunctory interactions with some random human in the already stressful situation of being in a grocery store is pretty nice. You can have self for the people who like it *and* classic style checkout for people who like that, No need to force your preference
I didn't realize we were in the 'losing the germ theory of disease' stage of the decline of rational thought.
Have you never heard of this? Very nearly all low end jobs like this want you to prove you can get to work because having a reliable car is a luxury that most of the people filling these jobs don't get.
Tell me more about the presence of the man who makes baby voice and yells for a living.
Can we at least have a purge style speed holiday where once a year you get arrested if you go below the speed limit at any time
This is dumb. Small bands of militants literally never make lasting change. Best case scenario is martyrdom and giving an excuse for even more oppression. The only thing that wins is massive support from the wider populace.
Yes, which is why they immediately rioted in support of the pudgy little dictator that would take away even the shreds of healthcare they got.
aka juiced full of HGH so hard his internal organs are expanding his ribs because there's no more room left in his chest.

It's difficult to hear the sounds of distant explosions when they are muffled by lots and lots of money.
And it's *actually* enough for most people. The vast majority of people want to watch tiktok, check their email, doomscroll and communicate. And that's all. Even windows is too much for their needs. And that's ok.
A former font of culture and weird geniuses that were ironically pretending to be racist nazis and forgot it was ironic somewhere along the line?

Some poor dumb 20y/o that joined the guard to get a little bit of school money is absolutely hating their life right now.
LLMs are really, really, really useful. It's a little bit like the internet. There's a lot of obviously wrong information out there. Comparing what the LLM tells you with other sources and using it as a guide to learning things instead of trusting every single thing it says is a force multiplier.
I'm not sure what a well dressed gentleman out for a walk on a cold night has to do with anything.

This is, in the long run, the wrong take. What we should want is not for the human to have the *job* but for the human to have the *resources*. Once we have strong ai we have enough resources for every human to just be a painter or a saxophonist or whatever and not worry about sitting in an office.
It seems pretty clear some dipshit with essentially no training heard the word 'gun' and started shooting, which triggered other mouthbreathers to shoot. This is what happens when you give the idiots who guard the cinnabon a gun and give them the right to make life or death decisions.
Ya we did pretty alright for a while. Everyone can do better, but as far as our little experiment with democracy I think we won more than we lost for a long time
I use bluesky muted and I was legitimately confused by how you managed to arrange all these stocks such that they were rising and falling contiguously in these strange patterns.
The Iranians have been designing a decentralized dead mans switch network capable of retaliating after a decapitation strike for the last couple decades. It's an open question whether the current government *can* stop those elements from acting.
