Because the first question shifts the blame to the desperate, making their morality the focus, while the second question demands accountability from the powerful. It's easier to question survival than to challenge greed.
They stayed silent because it wasn’t their problem. That’s how injustice wins, not by force, but by the quiet approval of those who look away.
The system doesn’t need to break you. It just needs you to do nothing while it breaks others. And when it’s your turn, no one will be left to fight for you.
A powerful truth. Silence in the face of wrongdoing isn't neutrality, it’s permission.
Just learned a new term I can painfully relate to: Schrödinger’s Fatigue.
It’s that weird state where you’re exhausted but can’t rest. Too tired to be productive, but also too restless to relax. Stuck in a loop of wanting to sleep but overthinking everything instead.
To Those in Power,
We see you.
We see how you treat the people you swore to serve.
Power is temporary. One day, you'll be out.
You will be remembered, not as you claim to be, but as you truly are.
You may control the narrative now,
but the truth always survives you.
Sincerely,
History.

1/ People treat willful ignorance like it's harmless but it's literally how atrocities happen. "I didn't know" becomes "I didn't want to know" becomes "I knew but it wasn't my problem" and suddenly you're on the wrong side of history wondering how you got there
'April Fools' Day is canceled. Nothing we make up can beat the madness happening in real life.
Bluesky seeing old users return: ‘I knew you'd be back.’
The most unrealistic part of movies is when people get up in the morning, fully awake, without hitting snooze 5 times.
They called him crazy for that song and then spent the next 30 years doing exactly what the song said they'd do.
You can't bomb your way into peace. But they keep trying like the ending will somehow change this time.
That is a fair point. Compared to tyranny, democracy is the better option. But Democracy still means living with decisions you may strongly disagree with, and that frustration is real.
Democracy is worth it and the real challenge is how we handle its imperfections while making it work for everyone.
