Picking radishes is no easy task. Efrén spends 8-10 hrs/day on his knees, picking and sorting the radishes into small bunches to fill dozens of crates a day in CA's Ventura County. He's proud to have worked in America's fields for 49 years. #WeFeedYou

Our hearts are heavy for the grieving family of Jaime Alanis, who died from injuries sustained during a chaotic raid on Thursday.

We will do everything we can to support them. We continue to work with the hundreds of farm worker families navigating the aftermath of this violent raid.

We are posting this placard at all of our offices and asking our union contract farms to post as well.

We encourage our friends to put up similar placards at their business as immigration agents do not have the right to go on private property without permission.

The UFW can confirm farm workers were critically injured yesterday during chaotic raids in Ventura County, CA. Other workers, including US citizens, remain unaccounted for.

Our staff is on the ground supporting families. Many workers-including US citizens, were held by federal authorities at the farm for 8 hours or more. US citizen workers report only being released after they were forced to delete photos and videos of the raid from their phones. 4/

We’ve heard reports of guidance for DHS to “pause” raids on agricultural worksites— and we’re skeptical.

As long as Border Patrol and ICE are sweeping through farm worker communities making chaotic arrests like they did TODAY, they’re still hunting down farm workers.

It is with deep sadness that we received news of the death of Pope Francis. Our condolences to all Catholic farm worker families in our community.

Pope Francis was outspoken in his compassion for workers, immigrants and other marginalized people.

It's peak cherry harvest time in CAs central valley. This worker earns $6.50 per 23lb bucket of cherries. On a good day she can pick 20-24 buckets in 7 hrs-if she works as fast as she can. Peak season doesn't last long so she rushes to earn every penny. Her family relies on her. #WeFeedYou

A “shift” never happened. A chaotic raid at a worksite and a warrantless sweep in our communities have the same outcome. Bullshit rhetoric aside, they’re hunting us down while we’re trying to feed you.
