esoteric pussy holding the secrets to achieving gnosis
i hate it when an anime adaptation of a manga comes out and the fan wikis immediately start to change every single image in their articles from the manga panels to the anime's screencaps
his, specifically
people underestimate how much changing the relative position of characters between panels can make a comic worse to read
i think a common mistake i see people make when they add hatching to their drawings is that they don't think of hatching as a way to communicate texture or light, so they zoom in and add a bit of hatching here and there, usually close to joints, and it feels weak somehow
it gives off this uncomfortable feeling that the anime is somehow the "higher" version of the work, as if it's somehow more official, more real than the original thing that came out of the author's (and their assistants of course) hands
i'm trying to get into the habit of having a pile of sketches that i can choose from to make a more elaborate piece whenever i want
rewatching DS9 and it is genuinely shocking when you get to Duet, because from there it's like 5 episodes in a row that are much more serious in tone and also much better written than most of the previous season and it really feels like you're watching something else lol
as an addendum to my previous post, i feel like a lot of people strive for manga-sized comics not because of a strong prefence but more due to a lack of exposure to big international comics (like from France and Argentina) and the composition possibilites that exist in them
Lizard by King Crimson is definitely one of the best 23-minutes long songs named after a type of animal that feature Yes's singer Jon Anderson
if you smoke mickey mouse will break your knee!!!!!
there is a subconscious thing where your brain will think "character A is on the left, B is on the right" and if that changes suddenly that can create a small but significative moment of confusion that makes the reading stop being smooth
taiyo matsumoto, araki, moebius and hugo pratt are probably my biggest inspirations when it comes to inking specifically
Summer Shorts was printed on a big format so i got to finally explore some of the paneling options that big pages offer, but i feel the need to explore that more. Unfortunately most zine opportunities i have are more or less manga-sized, which is fun but bigger pages open up interesting options
