Hats off to all the #HandsOff protestors yesterday!
Next step for the US, work towards a general strike ✊

Sooo I've just flipped myself into a low carb diet.
So I get to enjoy the crash/keto flu/withdrawal in a day or two. Fun.
About time I try something. Been a long time since I ate low/no carb, and it was indeed good for me.
Let's hope it helps push away the exhaustion plaguing the last 6 months.
I'm so aware of being in a lefty web dev bubble that I named us the Inclusive Front. I LOVE us.
I find I dislike the vibe of the larger, more corporate web development events. They're too much for me.
I also feel like the divide is growing, and that it's not good.
It's not that people don't care.
Trust me even being aware of it even at that stage is super helpful.
I fell apart at university. I'm convinced now I have some level of ADHD inattentive type.
Had I known that ADHD was even an option and asked for help, instead of blaming myself and spiralling, I would have done so much better.
All these people working on the web who I hold in such high regard are hurting. Slop really isn't good for morale.
"I’m not the only one. Personal sites are coming back. RSS feeds are coming back. Webrings are coming back. People are remembering that a website can be a home or a place instead of a profile."

Yessss @terrygodier.com!
Very pleased and a little nervous to announce that I got to write a bumper post for CSS-tricks!

He's not my cat, he lives with our neighbours. We look after him sometimes. I think we're friends :)
Convinced my fellow front-end colleague in the new project we're setting up, that we can have a headless UI library, and an accessible one at that.
Whoopeeeeee, FINALLY I am spending work hours writing CSS!!! ✨🤩🎉
Have chosen to use Adobe React Aria Components for the gnarlier UI challenges. Happy!
I came up with the term Inclusive Front to mean the band of people who care about the web's inclusivity.
It's a play on words; we largely work on the front end, but I feel at times we're also like a political 'popular front' against a poorly built web that excludes people.
I've had stickers made!
Germans from where? A lot of Germany will say Bavaria thinks it's special, and are tired of that attitude.
Aaaaalso being more aware of it going into parenthood would have been good too.
I'm turning 42 tomorrow and considering getting myself assessed, as there are still things where just *knowing* would really help, instead of my usual self-flagellation for my personal failures.
In the State of JS survey when I answered I was a woman, I was asked to share this link to invite more women:

I nearly didn't do it, the JS ecosystem drives me nuts, but if I don't contribute, it will continue to drive me nuts and I'll remain unrepresented...
Think this might finally have happened with twitter:

"At its simplest, the trust thermocline represents the point at which a consumer decides that the mental cost of staying with a product is outweighed by their desire to abandon it."

"But I like programming. I like writing. I like making things and then being able to sit back and look at them and think, holy fuck, I made that. There is no joy for me in typing a vague description into a computer and refreshing my way through a parade of Whatever until something is good enough."
Thissss but this also makes it very clear that despite being full of old weird words and that blasted iambic pentameter nonsense - when it's performed well, live, those words come alive and make perfect sense in context.
They are *plays*. I hated doing classes on Shakespeare until I saw them acted.
Yes! The goodinternetmagazine.com is out!
You want this. Order yourself a digital or physical copy.

Gosh I just love the idea that I should be scared, or better, accompanied and protected at all times in public life.
Arguably we're *always* in danger from a surprise creep, but that doesn't mean I should sit alone at home or always have a chaperone with me.
I go places! Of course I travel alone!
Dear @bsky.app devs - I am continually confused by the "Share" button that looks like an "Upload" button.
Please consider using the icon that looks like interconnected nodes, or the swoopy arrow thing.
Thank you!

Really love what can be done with the web platform nowadays (being HTML, CSS, JS). Have mixed feelings about frameworks.
