    It is my 2-year anniversary of when I started using watercolors.

    It had been 15 years since I'd drawn, and I had never used paints of any sort before.

    I'm pretty pleased with my progress!

    The kid calls me stepmom. We let him decide when he was younger how he would like to address me.

    Tonight he called me Mom, twice, quite deliberately. I know it was deliberate because he didn't correct himself like he usually does.

    One of my first bird paintings ever - I gifted this one to my mother for her birthday last year.

    Finished butterfly. Approximately 6 hours from start to finish, and it is definitely the most intricate piece I have done to date.
