    A former federal agent after watching the New York Times breakdown of the ICE shooting:

    I watched it, that actually makes it much worse. He never should have been in front of the SUV. We are trained do not get in front of a vehicle like that, there’s only bad outcomes. Also, his video clearly shows she was not surreptitiously reaching for any objects within the vehicles drivers compartment, so the only defense for the agent would be that she was trying to run him over, which clearly isn’t the case, as emphasized by the fact that his legs were out of the way. The video also shows the SUV was moving so slowly that even in icy conditions he should’ve just moved out of the way. In the department of justice we are prohibited from using deadly force purely to prevent escape. Bad shoot all around

    While the relentless attacks on federal workers have certainly taken their toll, I remain incredibly proud of my 23 years in public service, including nearly a decade on active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps. When I left the Marines as a disabled veteran, I was unsure what my future would hold, and so it was an honor of a lifetime when I was offered the chance to serve my country again as a federal employee. Since 2010, I have served as a spokesman for agencies within the Department of Defense and the Department of Justice, and have witnessed the extraordinary expertise, patriotism, selflessness, and steadfast commitment to mission of public servants throughout the federal service. To be clear, the outcome of the most recent general election did not influence my decision. In fact, it has been an honor to serve this department under multiple administrations led by both Republicans and Democrats, each of whom have previously treated career staff with respect and dignity. It is heartbreaking to see that basic decency come to an end.     Defense says that the officer's testimony was "very questionable" because he said the sandwich both exploded in spray of mustard and onions and also landed in its wrapper on the ground.

    FBI director Chris Wray, in his 60 Minutes interview, mentioned the Jan. 6 defendant convicted of plotting to murder the FBI agents who investigated the rioter on J6 charges.

    Generously, at maximum, I think maybe 3% of Americans are aware of that conviction.
