this is why keeping corruption out of government is not some sideshow, it’s fundamental to effective governance

if you cannot trust the people in charge of public health because “they changed their story due to bribes” is a legitimate inference, that is a crisis all on its own

    a) there are, like, single digit trans girls in sports in most states (sometimes literally one!), this entire thing is made up so that one girl who wants to play sports with her friends can't do it

    b) do not, under any circumstances, make policy based on angry sports parents

    a) ossoff's whole "bring it, dipshit" attitude is exactly the right response to trump's election shenanigans

    b) good lord has he ever leveled up as a political communicator, I continue to think he's a very serious 2028 contender if he wants it

I know a lot of the focus here has been on the Dems who voted not to cut aid to Israel but I think “the majority of the caucus voted to cut aid” is a monumental sea change in Dem politics and the movement here is only going in one direction

this is the most Dem support Israel will ever see again

you don’t have to say nice things about lindsey graham

we are past that cultural moment, largely thanks to the man he knew was one of the worst people alive and deliberately enabled at every turn

he was a bad person and did awful things and you can just be honest about it

evelyn normielib is real and she is coming to a primary near you

I cannot count the number of conversations I’ve had with normal offline liberals that would be TOS violations over here

nobody should use twitter (you don’t have to use bluesky! just not twitter!)

but very specifically journalists and entertainment reporters using it has been astoundingly corrosive for our civil dialogue, because we have completely lost any semblance of “saying this is unacceptable”

fixing the court is table stakes for any Dem running for national office, you are not a serious candidate if you can’t get on board with this and refusing to do so is disqualifying in a primary

because it doesn’t matter what your policy positions are if SCOTUS will just overrule them

the chuds understand ‘what if a man was Large’

the chuds understand ‘what if a man was Woke’

the concept of a man who is both Large and Woke continues to break their brains

I’m not thrilled that apparently the secret to success in basically every field right now is “be really good at short form video”

one side's voters care about sexual assault and one side's voters don't and while I understand that "impossible to say whether this is good or bad" is the standard for the paper of record I think it's clear which side has the moral high ground here

cabo verde held both world cup finalists to a draw across 90 minutes and almost took argentina to penalties, easily the best performance anyone has put up against either team all world cup

cooked, low energy, things of that nature

in all seriousness: I’m not going to say we aren’t in trouble because we are obviously in trouble

but whining about the SAVE Act is not the act of someone with a coherent plan to steal the elections and when he tries it’s going to be a haphazard shitshow
