You're wrong. The border between the two isn't all that clear. I'll be able to enter it soon. In full range. Full motion. I'll translate myself into it.

TechCrunch comment from "Justin" on July 15th, 2006 at 9:48 pm I think this is the dumbest thing ever! Who would want all their personal text messages on a public website for anyone to read and track?

TechCrunch article from a July 19th, 2006 archive. Title: Odeo Releases Twttr Published: July 15th, 2006 Author: Michael Arrington 62 comments Odeo released a new service today called Twttr, which is a sort of “group send” SMS application. Each person controls their own network of friends. When any of them send a text message to “40404,” all of his or her friends see the message via sms. This launched officially today, and a few select insiders were playing with the service at the Valleyschwag party in San Francisco last night. People are using it to send messages like “Cleaning my apartment” and “Hungry”. You can also add friends via text message, nudge friends, etc. It really a social network around text messaging - and is very similar to another service called Dodgeball. Users can also post and view messages on the Twttr website, turn off text messages from certain people, turn off messages altogether, etc. There is also a status widget available that can be placed on a website. I like the service although I was not able to sign up for it myself (someone added me at the same time I tried to register directly, the result was lockout of my phone number). I’ve been playing around with someone else’s account until I can figure out how to get my number sorted out.

    indistinguishable from magic #retro #objectum #techum

A vintage computer advert for the Atari 400 home computer. The Atari rests upon a featureless void desert, illuminated from above by an unknown source. Hands coming from the viewer type on the keyboard, as the display with BASIC code on it floats in mid-air above the computer, without a monitor surrounding it.

A Macintosh Performa 550 computer circa 1993, with a wired Apple keyboard in front of it. The computer is running the "About This Macintosh" dialog, showing it is running MacOS 7.5, with a variety of applications and documents on the desktop. A landscape photo of an alternate angle of the Macintosh and its keyboard. The disc tray is open and has a CD copy of "Wacky Jacks" in it. An up-close landscape shot of the Macintosh's monitor, showing the "Launcher" application with three tabs: Applications, Learning, and Service/Support. The Applications tab is open and has several icons of applications: American Heritage Dictionary, America Online, ClarisWorks, eWorld, Mario Teaches Typing, Quicken 4, and Super Munchers.

    Samsung SPH-N270, "Matrix phone" #retro #objectum #techum

The front of the Samsung SPH-N270's packaging, featuring the phone in front of falling digital code in the style of "The Matrix". The logo for "The Matrix Reloaded" is in the lower left corner. The Samsung SPH-N270 being held in hand. The phone is very stylized and closely resembles the phone seen in "The Matrix". Another shot of the Samsung SPH-N270, laying flat on a table. The phone has its speaker on a portion that slides out to reveal the phone's screen above the keypad. The phone is currently searching for cell network service, and its UI imitates the visual style of "The Matrix".
