Matt Gertz, a senior fellow at the progressive watchdog Media Matters, who also chronicled the day’s happenings on the network, said he couldn't recall another instance in which Fox News effectively buried a major presidential address that Trump had spent days promoting. “Fox News hosts often do damage control for Donald Trump by ignoring stories” involving controversies surrounding the president, Gertz told Status. But, he added, “I can’t recall them ever burying a major address that the president had spent days promoting.” In Gertz's view, the network appeared caught between two concerns: a recognition that Trump's fixation on 2020 continues to weigh on Republicans politically, and a reluctance to directly tell viewers that Trump’s central allegations have already been thoroughly debunked.

    I grew up in NYC in the 70s. It was seedy and wonderful, had that distinctive NYC rising heat street smell in the summer, needles everywhere, and dirty slushy streets in the winter. When you were little everyone watched out for you since you were a neighbourhood kid, when you got older the city was open to you by bike, foot, bus and subway. You avoided places you knew were dangerous and developed street smarts young. It was completely normal I moved to NYC from a small town in the South in 1977 and I loved it. Yeah, there were drugs, prostitution, all kinds of crime, but it was alive. You had to learn where not to go, but that’s pretty
