New Jersey Democratic Gov. Phil Murphy has signed a law to prohibit book bans in the state and enshrine protections against civil and criminal charges for librarians who comply with the law.

Creating DOGE, essentially a paralell shadow government agency with no oversight or accountability and with co-heads who have billions in government contracts, at any other time would have been considered a fatal conflict of interest.
