Scrambling to replace their health insurance and to find new work, some fired federal workers are running into another unexpected unpleasantry: Relatives cheering their job loss.

Stephen Miller and Homan’s goal is to shock and awe blue cities to terrify whole communities. They’ll deliberately targeting businesses, schools, hospitals churches and other places of worship. They want Americans to be afraid. Mayors and governors must stand up to them. Lawyers get on standby.

Who knew Biden could have just stormed into the White House, handed a friendly billionaire the keys to all the federal buildings, fired anyone who might have voted for Trump and imposed the Green New Deal, police, gun and voting reform and Roe v. Wade by force, without barely a peep from Congress.

So to summarize, according to #maga, any Black, gay or trans person who achieves any position, no matter how degreed or credentialed they are is an unqualified #dei hire. And any white person, however unqualified or even sketchy is inherently qualified when they get a job. Do I have that right?

An unelected and unaccountable billionaire wants to dictate what working families can and cannot afford.

If you think Elon did nothing offensive, perhaps try it yourself at work or at school or in Germany or Austria and see how that goes for you.

If you perform at the Trump inauguration or at any related events you are endorsing him. Full stop. And it’s no more defensible than if you performed for Putin or Orban or in the 1930s for the German chancellor. You can dress it up all you want but that’s what it is.

In the end Trump got away with everything (except the crimes and civil violations he committed in New York). And I don't blame Jack Smith. He did his job. I 100 percent blame Merrick Garland, who frittered away two full years and let Trump walk for stealing classified documents and fomenting a coup.

Jimmy Carter was right about climate change. He was right about the Mideast conflict and apartheid in Israel and South Africa and the ongoing plagues of poverty and racism. It was he not Reagan who freed our hostages in Iran. A true man of God, he died beloved, which not many presidents do or will.
