Voter registration should be automatic too, but the double standard here is galling.

We’re just going to be on this tariff see-saw forever, aren’t we?
seems that way

Being slightly charitable, I expect Scott’s point is that it’s something of a feat for the subject of an obituary to outlive the writer of that obituary.
You know, this adds a fun extra dimension to the old “Simpsons did it” meme.
I voted!
Once again, I forgot my sunglasses and managed to stage my voting selfie by staring directly into the sun.
But, I voted!
This is long overdue. I've frequently characterized the state of Windows as a weight around the necks of PC OEMs, as well as AMD and Intel, recommending a look toward new markets (SteamOS licensing, for example) to forge a path forward not dependent on Microsoft.
Instead of checks and a checkbook, you get a passbook that you stick in a goofy dot matrix printer attached to the top of an ATM and it prints all your transactions in it.
Now seems like a good time to remind Seattle friends that @scarecrowvideo.bsky.social exists, is a non-profit, and it’s the best (and largest) video rental store in the US!

What happened to eliminating government waste?
Brief (re-)intro, as BlueSky is taking off:
Hi! I'm James Sanders, an analyst at TechInsights covering CPUs, GPUs, AI, and Quantum, as well as everything that has a semiconductor in it.
I'm probably the most hype resistant analyst in the industry—technology isn't a panacea for organization problems.
Why would this be a problem? They’ve clearly got the… space for them.
Last week, I had the opportunity to see Microsoft’s Majorana 1 QPU in person in a lab tour and presentation with the scientists working on topological qubits. It’s an amazing achievement, and a testament to persistence.

Hello from Phoenix, Arizona, where I expected different weather from Seattle, but instead got… flooded parking lots.
Yes, this is a completely reasonable response.
I keep one around for novelty, I show it off to the Europeans and they recoil in horror. It’s very funny.
I'm sure at some point the association with Tor ("The Onion Router") became a problem... the rebrand was probably overdue.
As much as "IT'S OVER 9000!" in the Ocean dub is a meme, this dub joke from Dragon Ball Z Kai is excellent.
This is a good start, but it needs more. I think it’s time, we deserve PG13 Wodehouse.
Considering how many people are leaving Substack for its laundry list of problems, Pornhub genuinely has an opportunity to do the funniest thing ever.
The first thing I’ve ever backed on Kickstarter finally arrived—looking forward to playing this, and thank you, @mmasnick.bsky.social!
Chances are a lot of the employees will wind up at a conveniently named startup called ToSoftware.
(Maybe a bit of wishcasting, but there’s precedent, sort of.)
