Morning, friends. It's becoming clearer by the day: Trump plans to destroy governmental institutions by appointing unqualified, incompetent, dangerous agency heads. Hey Senate, YOU have a DUTY to protect the American people. Don't check your spines at the chamber doors. Don't feed the dictator!

If we could turn our frustration into action, we could accomplish damn-near anything. What say we give it a try?

So even before being sworn in, Trump is caught lying about, and is called out by an actual leader, President of Mexico Claudia Sheinbaum. Trump is determined to make America a laughingstock around the world.

Happy MLK Jr. Day, my friends. In 1968, Dr. King spoke the following words, which are equally true today:

"The nation is sick. Trouble is in the land; confusion all around.... But I know, somehow, that only when it is dark enough, can you see the stars."

We must find & feed the points of light.

There are more people who want American democracy to survive than there are people who want to destroy it.
Let's act accordingly.

So, in trying to get his NY guilty verdict dismissed, Trump argues that continuing his prosecution would be an unconstitutional restraint on his ability to govern and do the . . . unconstitutional things he's promised to do. Yes, we ARE living in the legal upside down.

Morning friends. I know Trump thinks he can flood the zone with unqualified hacks like Hegseth, Patel, Gabbard & others. But consider: he wanted Rick Scott to be Senate Majority Leader. Republican Senators said NOPE! He wanted Gaetz as AG. Senators said NOPE! Seems like a pattern emerging?

The sad fact is this lawless pronouncement by Trump is damn-near a quote from the democracy-busting presidential immunity ruling from a compromised Sup Ct.
This is PRECISELY why Justice Sotomayor (joined by Justices Kagan & Ketanji Brown Jackson) said, “With fear for our democracy, I dissent.”

Imagine if corporate media spent as much time airing Jack Smith's truthful, accurate, and credible statements about Trump's crimes as corporate media spends airing Donald Trump's lies?

Do Senate Republicans care about Trump's unqualified cabinet picks? Will they let him try to destroy the institutions of government? Or will they PROTECT the American people from Trump's obvious efforts to just burn it all down?
