No, words have meanings. There are other environmental issues to worry about, and it's valid to do so, but it makes sense to separate out climate because the timelines and risks of runaway acceleration are extremely different.

let me rephrase—if it can't be stated in emissions-equivalent terms, it's probably not about climate. yes, land use is involved, and the studies I'm talking about account for that.

my point is that say, endangered migratory birds, though I like them, may not in all cases be a climate issue.

Yesterday my partner and I counted all the ads along Chicago's Brown Line for "Friend," a company selling an AI chatbot pendant, and tallied how many of those ads were defaced. Still working on a longer piece on this, but here's the quick and dirty: we counted 104 "Friend" ads total, 42 defaced.
